Where Am I?

I am from Aurora, Nebraska. It’s a small town that has a heart of its own, small but mighty. The population is around 5,000, that sounds like a good guestimation. And the community that we have is the most supportive one out of all the towns around, and I love every part of it. Our community is what makes Aurora, Aurora. No matter where you are in town you will always see someone you know, and they always have a smile on their face. When you go to the grocery store, you will most likely have a conversation with someone you know in the middle of the isle about something. Our town is constantly growing into a bigger and better community. Our town has some fast food joints like Runza, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, and Arbys, and China Garden. That’s about it.  We have a movie theater down town and it is really nice. Nothing beats 3 dollar movie tickets! We also have a youth center that is run by people of the community. It is a great hangout for grade-schoolers to go on the weekends instead of getting into trouble. They have all sorts of video games, pool tables, air hockey, basketball games, arcade games, and an outside area to play games like dodge ball and basketball. They also sell candy and pop inside for them that is really cheap!  I think it’s a great way to keep the community together and also a good way of providing entertainment for kids.
Aurora also has three parks, public pool that is open during the summer, and camp grounds for people that are coming and going through the town. In one of our parks they just put in a new walking path that winds through it.We have baseball fields and softball fields and tennis courts throughout the town. We are working on a new softball complex for next spring right now; it was supposed to be done already but oh well. It has three softball field and a regulation sized baseball field in it also. It will be a very nice place to play ball next summer and fall. We also have the Penner Athletic Center  that is a new addition to our town. It has two basketball courts and two volleyball courts which helps the town tremendously. There are lots of things that Aurora has to offer for its size.
I live in the country of Aurora. The house that I live in has been in our family for many years. My dad used to live in the same one when he was a boy and when his dad, or my grandma, passed away when I was three he  decided to take over and live in. there is so much history in this house about our family. This house has raised one family for over 50 years.  There has been so much put into this house that I can’t imagine being anywhere else. That is what makes our house a home. We have made changes to the house since my grandpa used to live in it. In 1997 my uncle put in a new basement and remodeled the front of the house. We sided the house and added a garage. There used to be two barns that had pigs and chickens in them, but they were too old and weren’t worth trying to fix up. The only thing that I would change about this house is having another bathroom. We only have one in this big old house, and raising four girls with one bathroom is very difficult. You can only imagine how hard it was getting ready for school in the mornings with all of us! We have had many animals and pets throughout all the years. There are memories and memories made in this house that it is a big part of me and where I am from.
In some ways you could say that some of the music I listen to could help tell you where I am from. I listen to country music, and a lot of it. Lots of people absolutely hate it, but I probably couldn’t live without it. There are so many good songs that describe life in so many ways. The songs have meanings within the lyrics that can fit anyone with any situation that you are in. It is so much better than all of the other songs that are heard on the radio. The best music it by artists like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney. They are as country as it gets.

FM Static - Take Me As I Am

Who am I?

“Being happy doesn’t mean that everything perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.” –unknown
Who am I? I am Morgan George, my parents are Patrick and Valerie. They are the best parents in the world and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.  My mom and dad are supportive of everything I do, and support every decision I make.  I have three sisters; Lindsay, Krysta, and Jeanette. Lindsay is ten years older than me and is married to Brian Pape. They live in Lincoln, Nebraska. Krysta is eight years older than me and is in a relationship with Ian Ohem.  They travel all over the world and do random stuff that entertains them. Jeanette is the sister that is closest to my age by four years. She is dating Sam Parker. And they are moving to Florida in January. Family is a big part of who I am. They are always going to be there for me no matter what, and I think that a really big part that makes people who they are.
I am a softball player and also do track. Sports keep me busy and also push me to do better. Softball is my main sport I play. I play in the summer and the fall, and it is very, very time consuming.  When I play softball in the summer it’s mainly to get better and to have fun. During the fall it’s a different story.  In fall ball it’s much more competitive and a lot more stressful. Even thought our team has ups and downs we still manage to have a good time.  Our team gets along great. We have our own little family, and I love it. We are always going to be there for each other and we help each other with personal problems.   Our team gets stronger and stronger every single time were together. Having a new coach two out of the three years makes it a challenge as well.  Our coach is like a father to us. He cares about each and every one of us. Not as a team mate, but also as an individual.  We butt heads but it’s what makes us stronger.  Track is a different sport that I also love to participate in.  Even though it’s a team sport, I do an individual event. I do high jump. Having an individual event separates it from the way I feel about softball. In high jump, it’s just me.  It’s my time to help improve myself and push myself.  I look at it in a different perspective.
I like to refer back to the quote that I have at the top of this post. It’s a quote that I think fits every person and is also true to the T. Nobody has a perfect life, and everybody makes mistakes. It’s the fact that you have to look beyond all that to make you happy. You can’t let little things bother you and stop you from anything. To some, if you let those little things bother you, you can actually hurt yourself and the people you love. You will end up digging yourself into a bigger hole than what you already feel. People may not think about it much, but there are people all around you that want you to be happy. They love to see your smile, and they wouldn’t want anything but your happiness. One of the hardest things is that you can’t let the people that you may not get along well with, or let the things that you don’t get your way get you down. You have to control your happiness. You and only you have that power.  I think of all the friends I have, the family I have, and my teammates. They don’t like it when I’m not happy. Who wants to be around someone who is going to put you in a bad mood? There is so much more to life than looking back at your mistakes. You have to move forward and think towards the future.
I take all of these things that I have mentioned as a part of who I am. There is always more than meets the eye to every person. Some things you may not know and some that you may think you know, but until you completely know someone you have no idea who they really are. Everyone is a different individual. There are so many things that make up a person and I am proud of the fact that this is who I am.
